Drawing Basic Space (Orthographic Drawings)
Final Project
This project introduces students to key people in the built environment and how drawing conventions and calculation is used in the field. Students will explore and understand the application and complexity of drawing convention and skills is applied in the practice as a means of communication.
This is an individual final project for this module. In this project, students are required to produce a final A4 proposal report with students’ progress drawing. Students required to use the measurements and information gathered on the furniture and architectural elements for studio unit layout to generate orthographic drawings.
List of drawings that students should produce for the final submission would include the following:
1- ONE(1) Layout plan
2- THREE(3) Elevations ( to show the different spaces)-discuss with your tutor for suitability of the elevations
3- ONE(1) Section
4- ONE(1) Detail Drawing-orthographic drawings of one furniture/fixtures/fittings
5- ONE(1) Inspirational Perspective- you may trace from a photo with a suitable scale
5- Furniture Inventory/Schedule to show your furniture references and simple costing on the furniture expenditure
1- All final drawings must have title block, dimensions, labeling, scale, proper line weight and composition (using proper symbols and drawing conventions).
2- All final drawings must be 1:50 scale and must be hand drawn using proper drawing tools.
3- All final drawings must be in landscape format.
4- All final drawings must be drawn using felt tip pens for the final drawing submission.
I went to IKEA to take a look and do some research for the furniture that I am going to use in my studio design. I also went to the official website to do a better research on furniture. After showed my weekly progress, I able to know the mistake I did and able to correct it.
Based on the Taylor's Graduate Capabilities that were to be harnessed from this assignment, I managed to practice discipline specific knowledge, lifelong learning and intrapersonal skills.

DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
I able to apply the architectural writing, line weight and measurement that taught in classes in this project.

LIFELONG LEARNING
I learnt how to design an interior space and how to draw the particular drawing of the spaces I designed. I also learnt to do the furniture inventory for my own design too.

INTRAPERSONAL SKILLS
I did research on internet for ideas on how to produce elevation and section drawing. I also did search some perspective drawing tutorial videos. I sis some research on how to produce the furniture inventory too.
